Team David Allen – Cycling for a good cause…
A while ago we received a letter and leaflet through the post regarding The Jennings Rivers Ride 2011 – an event that is scheduled to take place on Sunday 18 September. A series of three bike rides starting and finishing in Keswick, following the route of the devastating floods of 2009. When this cycle ride was first mentioned a group of us decided that with a little bit of training we could make a valiant effort at the Middle distance event. The entry fee for the event goes to the Cumbria Community Foundation - a charity that has made an enormous difference to the people in our area at the time of the floods. As an added bonus we have also set up a Justgiving page to raise funds for the Great North Air Ambulance Service – a service that is vital to people in and around the Lake District.
Training st
arted several months ago with Alison Allen and Sara Deans getting up at 5.45am three times a week in an attempt to increase their fitness in time for September and Leanne Donald cycling to work on her bike every day... we find it hard to keep up with her so will have little chance on the day! The rest of us are fitting our training in at weekends and on an evening after work. Your David Allen team is looking for your support. So if you don’t fancy getting on your bike for a good cause, please feel free to sponsor us. If you wish to make a donation please forward a cheque made payable to ‘The Great North Air Ambulance Service’ to: Linda Rayson, David Allen, Dalmar House, Barras lane Estate, Dalston, Carlisle CA5 7NY, or alternatively log on to our Just Giving page www.justgiving.com/Team-DavidAllen.
Thanks in advance
