Cumbria Chamber Business Ride out

On Sunday 15 May with our waterproofs at the ready Sandra and I together with representatives from H&H Reeds Printers, Burnetts and Eden Valley Mineral Water Co Ltd set off from Lloyd Honda Bikes at Kingstown on a Business Bikers ride out; an event for like-minded people.

Kicking off with a welcome and light bites at sponsors Lloyd Honda Bikes we travelled through Carlisle to the A595 west, left at Bothel onto the A591 and then through Keswick centre, and then approximately 6 miles south from Keswick on the A591 we had our half-way stop at the Thirlmere / Helvellyne base car park.

We then continued on through Ambleside onto the A592 through Bowness and down along the Lake to Newby Bridge then onto the A590 where we all congregated at the Lakeland Motor Museum.

Entry had been arranged by our host Mike Morris and included a welcome coffee and biscuits. A leisurely look around the museum followed, and the quality and quantity of exhibits made the long wet trip down all the more worthwhile.

Not wanting to get caught up again in the visitor congestion on our homeward journey, we decided to set off back via Kendal to Penrith where we stopped for fuel and the chance for all to catch up.

A great afternoon out with great company, and one that I feel Sandra and I would like to repeat again in July when a further ride out is scheduled.
