David Allen is ‘highly commended’ at the UK Coach Awards

I, together with several colleagues had the honour of attending the UK Coach Awards Annual presentation at the Ramada Piccadilly Hotel in Manchester on 7 April.

The glittering ceremony was hosted by BBC Weathergirl Carol Kirkwood and the awards were presented by Steve Whiteway, President of the Confederation of Passenger transport.

David Allen was nominated by Irving’s of Carlisle Coach Hire in the Best Industry Support Solution category. This category is designed to recognise and reward excellence and high standards in the delivery of essential support services to coach operators. It focuses on products or suppliers which help operators to be:

• more efficient
• more environmentally friendly
• more customer-focused
• more reliable

Nominees included providers of services such computer software, other support services, engineering contractors, safety and risk management or legal advice.

The winners, announced by John Owen, Director of the UK Coach Awards were Door2Tour.com – a cutting edge internet marketing portal.

Although we didn’t win, we had a thoroughly enjoyable evening and were highly commended for our support to the coach industry.
