Dalston Show - 2010
The show started on Friday for us when we had to try and erect the marquees and usually this part of the operation goes without a hitch however due to a strong breeze at one point one marquee was sitting on top of the other. We knew at this point setting up on Friday the 13th was not the best idea.
We ploughed on and by the end of the day the stand was looking good. After ensuring all the marquees were strapped down we left the show field all wondering if they would still be there in the morning.
Linda and myself arrived down at 7:30 on show day and the stand had seen it through the night and looked as good as it did when we left it. Our stand looked great, along with all our new branding. The new bright colours stood out and many people passed very positive comments, and to compliment this Carol did some fabulous flower arrangements.
As usual the morning was fairly slow with only a few visitors as a lot of people were watching the cattle judging and in the industrial tent however after dinner this changed and it became a very busy day for everyone, meeting clients, entertaining children and also getting people to take part in our competition. The winner of the completion was Ali Jackson, Cummertrees, Annan.
I would just like to say a very big thank you to everyone that was involved in the preparation of the show and also to the staff that helped out on the day and everyone who visited our stand during the day which made it such a big success once again!
